Using the Site
The Care Community is divided into two interest areas. One side deals with the issues of Grief and the other side deals with the issues of Elder Care. These are called Grief Safe Place and Elder Care Safe Place.
Both sides contain a Doug’s Blog page, a Forum, and a Resources Page. Grief Safe Place also contains aBeginning the Journey page for those whose grief is recent. Elder Care Safe Place includes a Guest Authorsarea where we have other blogs from people who have additional helpful information for caring for elderly loved ones such as a physician and an author of a book on Alzheimer’s.
Blogs
Doug Manning and our Guest Authors have Blog pages. The first page will show snippets of the full articles (blog entries). If you want to read the whole article, click on Read More.
If you would like to see all the articles for a certain category such as “Facing the Decision” in Doug’s Elder Care Blog, click on the category button. All articles in that category, current and archived, will then be displayed.
Once you have read the article you may click Return to go back to the main blog page. You may also choose to email or print the article by clicking on the icons at the bottom of the article. If you wish to rate the article or add a short comment you may do so and then click Save.
