Dr. Wade McCoy is currently in private practice and the president of Gilbert Medical Center, LLC. He was raised in far Western Oklahoma in a rural community in Roger Mills County in the town of Reydon. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1988. With the encouragement of his biology professor, he pursued a career in medicine. He entered medical school in 1990 at the University of Oklahoma and graduated with distinction from that university in 1994 after being elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the only recognized worldwide honor medical society in the world. AOA stands for the Greek letters characterizing the motto of that organization: “worthy to serve the suffering.”
Since graduation from the Waco Family Practice Residency Program in Waco Texas, Dr. McCoy has been a diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice. He takes seriously the charge to always care for those who suffer, often in their last days. He has been involved in caring for the elderly over the last ten years in private practice in the Oklahoma City area. He also is active with hospice organizations in caring for the dying in the Oklahoma City community.
Dr. McCoy invites you to log in and post comments at the end of each blog entry. He looks forward to hearing from you.
